Method Man Forks Over $100G's To IRS

Rap star Method Man evened up with the Internal Revenue Service yesterday (June 28th) when he paid off his back tax bill.

Method Man, born Clifford Smith, appeared in Stand Island Criminal Court and pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges.

According to reports, Method Man forked over $106,000 in restitution after he failed to pay his New York State income taxes from 2004-2007.

Yesterday, the Wu-Tang Clan member paid over $40,000 to settle the entire debt with the IRS.

Rappers Game, Drake Team For Song 'Good Girl, Bad Girl'

Compton, Hip-Hop star Game took advantage of an album delay to add some superstar fire power to his upcoming release The R.E.D. Album.

The R.E.D. Album, which was originally due in stores on June 15th, has been pushed back to August 24th.

Last Wednesday (June 23rd), Game was in Encore Studios in Burbank, California, where he linked with Cool & Dre, who produced three tracks on The R.E.D. Album.

In the studio with Game was chart-topping rapper Drake, who laid down a verse for the song “Good Girl, Bad Girl” and Queen Latifah, who was there to witness the session.

Drake is a breath of fresh air for everybody, he’s cool, clean and he aint got no drama or beef,” Game told AllHipHop.com. “The chicks love him, the n***as support him.”

Drake’s latest album received a lot of support, moving over 446,000 copies during the first week of its release, on June 15th.

Prior to the album’s release, Interscope changed the June 15th release date of Thank Me Later and Game accurately predicted Drake’s success.

“Me, I am just trying to feed my family and remain potent in Hip-Hop,” Game told AllHipHop.com. “I know the caliber emcee that I am and I know for a fact I am needed in Hip-Hop. I am one of the few cats left that really cares about the essence of Hip-Hop. I can’t disrespect the colorful Hip-Hop or the “drake” era, so I have to blend into what Hip-Hop has elevated to, but I have to stay true to my roots. It’s longevity with me. I have a whole new motivation. I love music and I love where its going.”

The R.E.D. Album is due in stores August 24th.

Styles P. Keeps Fans In Mind With 'Smokable' CD Cover

Yonkers, New York rapper Styles P. recently sat down with AllHipHop.com to explain the packaging for the companion CD to his new book, Invincible.

The dramatic novel was released on June 1st with a CD of music to accompany the CD.

And since one of Styles P.’s biggest hits is the 2002 song “Good Times (I Get High)” - is an ode to marijuana smoking- the rapper kept his core fans base in mind, by wrapping the CD in smokable packaging.

“It’s like the cellulose wrap, that clear see through s**t. Smoke in consideration, big brotha,” Styles P. told AllHipHop.com. “It's just in case you run out and you f**ked up. You know what I'm saying? You can go to that. Keep that in the cut."

The 240-page novel was written over a two-year period, in conjunction with author Nikki Turner and released in paperback form through Random House.

The book centers around “Jake Billings,” a record store owner who shoots two men when they attempt to rob him.

Billings is stabbed a week after being sent to prison and he doesn’t emerge from a coma for two years. When he does, he finds that life his changed.

His sentence has been commuted but enemies still stalk him.

“It’s getting a great response. Its selling so I'm just grateful and appreciative of what's going on," Styles P. told AllHipHop.com. “Its basically an action packed mystery I don't want to say [the ending], but I think people will learn that you can't always judge a book by its cover.”

Style P.’s Invincible book and CD can be purchased along with T-shirts and other merchandise at StylesP.net.

Drake 'Humbled' By Success; Cash Money CEO 'Proud'

Toronto rap star Drake recently sat down with AllHipHop.com to discuss a number of matters, including the success of his debut album Thank Me Later, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart this week.

The rapper moved 446,680 units during his opening week, giving him the third biggest opening week of the year, behind Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now (481,000) and Sade’s Soldier of Love (502,000).

“First of all, I’m humbled by everything. It hasn’t really set in. It hasn’t really registered,” Drake told AllHipHop.com. “You know, we don’t do too much celebrating, but I’m just thinking about the next win…the next win. You know, like Kobe Bryant says. I don’t know what a ring feels like. Until I get the ring, I’m never satisfied.”

The 14-track album features guest appearances from Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, Cash Money Records label mate Lil Wayne and others.

"We are extremely proud of Drake," added Ronald "Slim" Williams, Co-CEO of Cash Money Records Group. "Drake is a talented individual and a humble person with a tireless work ethic and has truly given his all with Thank Me Later. The Young Money/Cash Money family is proud to release this album and hopes that the fans will enjoy it for years to come."

Last night (June 23rd), MTV2 aired an exclusive one-hour documentary on the rapper, titled Drake: Better Than Good Enough.

The documentary gives fans a glimpse into the rapper’s life as he deals with fame and the work that went into creating and promoting Thank Me Later.

According to Drake, he is happy with the results of Thank Me Later, but aims to do better with his sophomore album.

“I’m very humbled, very honored by the response of what we’ve done thus far, but – in my mind - we could do a lot better. I’m just working towards that,” Drake told

Rapper Nas Agrees To Payment Terms For Kelis' Mortgage

Rap star Nas has agreed to pay tens-of-thousands of dollars in back mortgage payments for the house his ex-wife, Kelis, lives in.

According to TMZ.com, Nas still owes his ex-wife almost $300,000 in spousal support.

Additionally, the rapper’s lawyer filed a payment plan with the court, so he could catch up on the late payments.

The rapper was past due $52,989.22 in monthly payments towards the home.

Nas will pay $17,500 up front and then double the payments of $7,800 each month until the mortgage on the home is current.

In a recent interview with PerezHilton.com, Kelis revealed that she was in a new relationship that was “going great.”

Game New ALBUM R.E.D

The new album from Compton, California rapper Game could be in jeopardy due to a new lawsuit filed by a company claiming to have been cut out of royalties, after signing the rapper.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Desperado Entertainment is seeking to halt the release of Game’s upcoming release The R.E.D. Album, which is slated for an August 24th release.

Desperado filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming it has agreements with Game that entitles the company to a portion of licensing and publishing income from all of the rapper’s record sales.

The lawsuit claims that Game and his associates are being paid hundreds-of-thousands of dollars in royalties but Desperado has never received their share of income.

Desperado also claims it attempted to work with UMG to resolve the issues with no results.

Lawyers for Desperado also accuse UMG of failing to account and pay proper royalties, claiming UMG reps blamed lack of payment of “budget overages.”

Desperado Entertainment is seeking an injunction, unspecified damages, in addition to an immediate advance payment of $275,000 for Game’s R.E.D. Album.

Jay Z sued by new private jet

A private jet company entitled, Air Platinum Holding, is in the process of suing rapper Jay-Z because the Brooklyn rapper never fully paid for the 55 hours he spent on one of their jets back in 2009.

TMZ.com reports that Jay-Z only paid Air Platinum Holding for 37 hours of service on one of its private jets. Leaving Jay-Z with a total of $137,485.00 owed for the remaining 18 hours (that amount also includes international fees, taxes, and more).

Air Platinum Holding owner Mickael Cowen even explained to MiamiNewTimes.com last year that he would never allow Jay-Z to charter another one of his jets.

"I won't fly Jay-Z ever again," Cowen explained. "He owes me $200,000."

TMZ attempted to reach a rep for Jay-Z for comment on the lawsuit, but their phone calls went unreturned.

Air Platinum Holding also made headlines last year when Cowen reportedly owed thousands of dollars to creditors, business partners, and former employees of the company

Rick Ross Boss

Rick Ross recently talked to MTV about the Supreme Team name change. The super-group, who recently added Nicki Minaj and Fabolous to their line-up of Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Red Cafe, DJ Khaled and the Bawse himself, recently announced their name would now be the Dream Team because of another group - coincidentally represented by Murder Inc.'s Irv Gotti - already using the name. Ross said that the name change was the proper thing to do and sends his blessings to Gotti's clique.

"Shout out to Irv Gotti and their whole movement, they've been repping the Supreme Team for a minute," Ross said. "We were caught up in the moment; it just fit the situation so good. We kinda just did our crew thing and ran with it. [The name] got hot in the streets. I think it was only right, us being entrepreneurs coming from the same place, representing the same game, being brothers."

He also spoke on the new name the Dream Team, which comes from the Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Patrick Ewing and Charles Barkley helmed gold medal winning 1992 U.S. Olympic basketball team. Ross says that he feels the new name is even more appropriate for the group.

"I felt like the 'Dream Team' was even more appropriate," he noted. "I felt that was the greatest team ever put together. They assembled the greatest players from each market on the same team and they went and took on the world. They conquered the world! Shout out to the Dream Team and the Supreme Team."

Africans Hiphop

Kanye West and Marion “Suge” Knight appeared in New York court(June 18th) in an attempt to settle a lawsuit over a shooting at a 2005 party in Miami.

According to the New York Post, West refused to speak during a six-hour, closed door session between Knight’s lawyer Marc Brumer and West’s lawyers.

Knight is seeking over $1 million dollars from Kanye West, claiming the rapper was responsible for a shooting that took place during a party he was hosting at the Shore Club in Miami inside the Red Room in August of 2005.

Knight was struck in the leg by an unknown gunman and suffered a gunshot wound which left the Death Row Records founder with a shatter femur that required multiple operations to heal.

Additionally, Knight claims West is responsible for a $135,000 15 karat diamond earring that was lost during the melee, which occurred during the celebrity-filled event prior to the 2005 VMA Awards.

"He basically put his hands over his head and didn't say anything for six hours," Knight's lawyer, Marc Brumer, told Page Six. "He evidently doesn't know anything about anything, despite the fact that he hosted the party.”

On Friday, Knight told the Associated Press that he was “disappointed” with the outcome of the negotiations.

"I figured I could sit him down, man to man, and get this resolved," Knight said after the marathon meeting, which took place at an office on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

According to Knight and Brumer, Kanye West and The Shore Club are responsible because the shooter breached security with a firearm and squeezed off six shots, one of which hit Knight.

A number of celebrities attended the party, including The Game, Eddie Murphy, The Black Eyed Peas, Jessica Alba and others.

Even if Knight wins, he would have to share the proceeds with the IRS and a bankruptcy trustee.

The lawsuit is still being handled in Miami Federal Court
