Kanye, Suge Square Off; Case Most Likely Heading To Trial

A phone meeting between Kanye West and former Death Row Records CEO Marion "Suge" Knight ended in a stalemate and produced no results involving Knight's $1 million dollar lawsuit against the Chicago rapper.

The Associated Press reports that the latest meeting took place yesterday (August 26th) in Miami, with Knight present and West attending by telephone.

According Knight's attorney Marc Brumer, the two sides could not reach an agreement over Knight's allegations that West is responsible for injuries he received after he was shot at VMA party West hosted at The Shore Club, in 2005.

In addition to being shot in the leg during the star-studded party, Knight claims he lost a diamond earring that was valued at $135,000.

Knight's lawsuit claims West is responsible for his injuries because there was allegedly not enough security at the event.

According to Brumer, the case will most likely go to trial.

This is the second attempt to reach a settlement over the dispute. The pair met in a lawyer's office in New York in June, but an agreement could not be reached.

Exclusive Details Emerge On Young Buck's "The Rehab" Album

diss "Hood Documentary," with a DX video.

Last month, HipHopDX announced that Young Buck had an upcoming release reportedly called The Rehab. Initially planned for August release, The Rehab had limited details. Now with a firm release date of September 7, and reported distribution including reduced prices at Best Buy and Wal-Mart, The Rehab's back-story is breaking.

Real Talk Entertainment, who released charting street albums last year from Sheek Louch (Life On D-Block) and Freeway (Philadelphia Freeway 2), will drop what they're referring to as "the third album" from the "former G-Unit" emcee from Nashville, Tennessee. Previously, Young Buck released 2004's Straight Outta Cashville and 2006's Buck The World on G-Unit/Interscope Records. In the time after 2006, the rapper had a very public financial dispute with 50 Cent and his former G-Unit bandmates that led to his removal from the Interscope Records group.

Among the 14 tracks on The Rehab is "Hood Documentary" , a diss towards Buck's former mentor and group-mate 50 Cent. The album is produced by Vince V., Cozmo, and Bizzy Bone, Bad Azz and X-Raided producer Big Hollis.

Real Talk's CEO Derrick “Sac” Johnson said in a statement, “We are very excited about working with Young Buck on this project. This project has been in the works for years, before 50 Cent and G-Unit. Young Buck is an international superstar and we are extremely proud to be releasing his third studio album, The Rehab.”
