Meek Mill Announces "Dreamchasers" Tour
Meek Mill is headlining his own tour this summer, which starts August 2nd and runs through til August 27th, a day before his album hits stores.
Meek Mill is departing on his first headlining tour this summer, following the release of Dreamchasers 2, the tour is aptly named "Dreamchasers." This tour comes in anticipation of his debut album, Dreams & Nightmares, which drops August 28th.
The tour kicks off on August 2nd at Denver's Fillmore Auditorium, and wraps up in NYC at the Irving Plaza. Check all the stops below to see if the Philly native hits your town.

Brooklyn Hip Hop Fest Adds Young Guru, Evitan, Uncle Ralph McDaniels, Chuck Chillout and More to the Mix
t’s nearly July, and the reps from Brooklyn Bodega are in full planning mode for the 2012 Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival (BHF 2012).
this year’s festival, to be held from July 9-14 at various New York City locations, boasts Busta Rhymes of Native Tongue, Leaders Of The New School, and Cash Money fame as its headliner for the culminating concert on July 14. Brooklyn Bodega recently announced that Philadelphia rapper Freeway would open for Busta Rhymes during the show that has typically included an “and Friends” portion in years past.
added to the BHF 2012 kickoff event, The Show & Prove Super Bowl, are DJ/engineer Young Guru and rap group Evitan, consisting of True School MCs, Dres of Blacksheep and Jarobi of A Tribe Called Quest.
Festival host and pioneer Uncle Ralph McDaniels of Video Music Box will join the “Salute The DJ” event, along with Chuck Chillout and Sucio Smash. KissFM host Bob Slade will be joining BEI, and “The Dummy Clap Film Festival” will show two screenings on Friday, July 13, including the documentary, The Infamous Mobb Deep.
Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest is the featured DJ for the “Dummy Clap” after-party, and the BHF 2012 Official Concert After-Party on July 14 will host Fat Tony and French-Chilean MC Ana Tijoux.
Nearly 200 donors helped to support the BHF 2012 with over $15,000 in donations through its recent, online Kickstarter Campaign.

Maybach Music Group Releases Full Stream of “Self Made Volume 2″
Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group has released a full stream of their upcoming Self Made Volume 2 project.
The highly anticipated compilation is part of Ricky Rozay’s plan to release a compilation project every summer.
“I want Self Made to be something people in the hip-hop culture, community can look forward to seeing every summer. We just wanna give new dudes opportunity and bring some of the greatest together at the same time,” Rick Ross explained.
The album is currently available for pre-order here and has a host of guest appearances from Nas, T.I., Bun B, Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, French Montana, Nipsey Hussle, Roscoe Dash, Ace Hood and Gunplay.

Rhymesayers Rapper Brother Ali Arrested For Trespassing in Occupy Protest
Minnesota/Rhymesayers rapper Brother Ali was among 13 protesters arrested yesterday (June 21) at an Occupy Homes MN rally in Minneapolis
According to (WCCO) CBS Minnesota, Ali Douglas Newman aka Brother Ali was arrested at the Cruz family home on the 4000 block of Cedar Avenue in south Minneapolis.
Brother Ali was arrested on charges of trespassing and refusing to depart, afterwards posting $50 bail when he was processed at the Hennepin County Jail.
“Just got home from jail. 13 of us arrested showing solidarity with the Cruz family and Occupy Homes worldwide. The struggle continues.”
The protests for the Cruz family stem from a 2011 foreclosure, when the mortgage’s original holder PNC Bank didnt accept an online mortgage payment.
As punishment, the bank imposed a fine of 2 months payment and the family was forced to foreclose when they couldn’t pay.
The Cruz’ were supposed to be evicted on April 26, but when authorities carried out the order on May 23, they were met by a large group of protesters.
They again tried to evict the family on May 25, but protesters had tied themselves together to the home.
Police arrested five protesters at that time, but failed to take the home.
A spokesperson for the Occupy Homes MN movement said Freddie Mac currently has obtained the Cruz family’s mortgage and has requested an eviction.
Protesters continue to negotiation with PNC Bank to allow the Cruz’ to keep their family home.
R. Kelly Preps Tell-All Autobiography
Singer R. Kelly is planning a tell-all autobiography with veteran writer David Ritz, titled “Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me.”
The autobiography will tell the untold story of R. Kelly’s controversial career and life.
“Soulacoaster,” will detail R. Kelly’s “conflicting realities of ‘Bump and Grind’ sexuality” and his “soul stirring ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ spirit.”
R. Kelly details his rise to fame, the fact that he has a learning disorder that has left him unable to read or write, how h has managed to sell over 35 million records and the darkest period in his life, that almost ruined his career.
The book details R. Kelly’s six-year ordeal over allegations that he had sex with and urinated on, a 14-year-old, an act caught on tape.
R. Kelly was eventually found innocent of all criminal charges in 2008, but the allegations permanently tarnished his name.
“In the tradition of legendary soul singer/songwriters, R. Kelly has defined his own unique style of genius while influencing an entire generation of singers,” said chairman and CEO of Epic Records, Antonio “L.A.” Reid. “He is the pure essence of soul, and in ‘Soulacoaster’ you’ll discover the untold story behind every song.”
R. Kelly wrote his “Soulacoaster” memoir in three different acts, utilizing the same plot twists and turns that made his “Hip-Hopera “Trapped in the Closet,” so popular.
Act 1 in the book focuses on the musician’s early life on the Southside of Chicago.
Act 2 focuses on Kelly’s struggle as a homeless musician on Venice Beach, in addition to his rise to fame.
In Act 3, R. Kelly discusses the end of this 12-year marriage, as well as the inner workings of his failed “Best of Both World’s” tour with Jay-Z.
The singer delves into the infamous pepper spray incident involving Jay-Z, which marked the end of the botched tour.
“Soulacoaster” includes over 130 photographs of R. Kelly, who will launch a “Soulacoaster” book tour that will visit four cities.
“Soulacoaster: The Diary of Me” is due in stores on June 28 via SmileyBooks.
R. Kelly will release Write Me Back, a new twelve-song CD collection, on June 26.

NBA Star Tony Parker Sues Nightclub Where Drake/Chris Brown Brawled For $20 Million
San Antonio Spurs standout player Tony Parker has filed a lawsuit against W.i.P. nightclub, over injuries he sustained during a wild brawl between Chris Brown and Drake, that also left at least six patrons wounded, as well as members of both artists’ entourages.
TMZ.com reports that Tony Parker filed a $20 million lawsuit in New York Supreme Court yesterday (June 21), claiming that W.i.P’s security was negligent in preventing the fight, in addition to allowing both artists into the club at the same time, considering the publicized tension between the two over R&B songbird, Rihanna.
Parker suffered lacerations to his cornea when he was struck by shards of glass, from bottles being thrown by members of both artists’ entourage.
The NBA star is supposed to play with France during the Summer Olympics, but he now needs an extra week to heal from his injuries and must wear a special contact lens as the wound heals.
“I’ll be missing the start of the French team because I can’t do anything for a week except keep the lens in and then take drops,” Tony Parker said, according to published reports.
Parker’s lawyer told TMZ.com that both Chris Brown and Drake could end up as defendants in the lawsuit, pending the outcome of the New York Police Department’s investigation into the incident, which took place in the early morning hours of June 14.
In related news concerning the fall out over the violent brawl, W.i.P. and Greenhouse have been shutdown indefinitely by New York Civil Enforcement Unit, for a number of violations.

Jay Electronica Threatens To “See” Kate Rothschild’s Ex-Husband
Rapper Jay Electronica took to Twitter earlier today and threatened Ben Goldsmith, the soon-to-be ex-husband of Rothschild heiress Kate Rothschild.
Jay E. took to Twitter to address reports that he is having an affair with Kate Rothschild, who runs Roundtable Records, a UK-based label.
Goldsmith, who is the son of billionaire Sir James Goldsmith, married Rothschild in 2003.
But the pair announced they will divorce today, after allegations of infidelity from both sides.
Earlier in the year, Goldsmith was
arrested and cited for assault for slapping Rothschild at their mansion.
The New-Orleans rapper, who is currently living in London, was the aggressor via Twitter.
“@BJGoldsmith: ‘ben you need to stop going to the press w these b******t stories. Dont be a f***ing hypocrite. I’ll come see you.,” Jay Electronica Tweeted. “you wanna go public, i’ll go public and you ain’t gonna like it. stop acting like a bitch.”
Kate Rothschild also defended herself via twitter and implied that her husband had cheated on her several times.
“Our marriage went bad a few years ago and none of you have any idea what I went through along with my husband,” Rothschild tweeted. “My husband is a brilliant and incredible man… relationships can go wrong. This is the darkest time of my life.

Barclays Names Jay-Z Director of Brooklyn Arena Firm; Grand Opening Set For Late September
The NY Post is reporting that Jay-Z, who is already a minority investor in the Brooklyn Nets and their new home, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, has been named director of the Barclays Arena firm.
Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, who recently helped design and debut the new logo and line of apparel and gear for the Brooklyn Nets, is now listed as director for the company that runs the Barclays Center, Brooklyn Arena LLC.
“The new title emerged in papers filed by arena developer Forest City Ratner Cos. in its bid to secure a liquor license for the future home of the Brooklyn Nets,” according to the Post. “As one of seven directors, the rapper and music mogul will attend board meetings and help direct arena senior staff on daily operations, Barclays Center officials confirmed today.”
The Post states that “Jay-Z is listed as an arena director along with Forest City CEO Bruce Ratner, David Berliner, Mary Anne Gilmartin, Christophe Charlier, Irina Pavlova, and David Carlock. Pavlova is Nets majority owner Mikhail Prokhorov’s right-hand woman in the United States and president of his Onexim Sports and Entertainment Holding USA, Inc. The Russian oligarch Prokhorov owns 80 percent of the Nets and also has a 45 percent share in the arena.”
The new title comes several days after news broke that Jay-Z plans to open a brand new 40/40 Club in the arena later this year. The rapper, entertainer and all-around business man is also planning to officially open the Barcalys Center on September 28 with a headlining concert.

EXCLUSIVE: Jay-Z Sued Over Book “Decoded”
Mogul Jay-Z has been hit with a lawsuit over his hit 2010 book “Decoded.”
According to a lawsuit filed on June 13, Patrick White claims that portions of “Decoded” were somehow stolen from him.
The lawsuit, which was filed in United States District Court, Central District, claims that White’s laptop was stolen in 2009.
“In 2009, my personal computer was compromised, resulting in my personal work to be used in Jay-Z’s book Decoded which was released in 2010,” White claims.
In the hand-written lawsuit, White claims he was shocked when he saw that portions of a book he had been working on were strikingly similar to portions of “Decoded.”
“The book contains various expressions/colors/phrases, which correlates to my work,” White alleges. “After contacting or attempting to contact the co-author, I got no reply.”
White is suing for copyright infringement and invasion of property.
In addition to Jay-Z, author Dream Hampton and Random House are also named in the lawsuit.

his may or may not constitute a rumor, but I though I would give it a try. Amber Rose has reportedly taken to eBay to get rid of all the clothing that Kanye West got her. Now, I don’t follow her enough to know if these are Kanye-specific, but that is what the internets are saying. Anyway, basically Amber is in full marriage mode and is getting rid of all of her historical junk.

Weird, right? Well, this seems to be the case. Sources say Kim Kardashian is losing her mind over it and possibly going insane. Well, insane may not be the word, but she’s definitely not happy about it. But, I must reason that Kanye is probably just looking to resolve inside his head that Ray-J tape that Kim made. 50 Cent Talks With Oprah; Discusses Philosophy on Death
In a sit down that many people never expected, 50 Cent and Oprah have connected for an introspective interview on a number of issues on her new show Oprah’s Next Chapter, on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
In the converstaion, the two have dialogue about rap culture, being a father, spirituality, 50′s life growing up, love, and even 50′s philosophy on death.
Despite his many violent run-ins with the streets, including being shot and having grown up in an environment of where his mother was murdered, 50 does not fear death and has found a way to come to terms with death itself.
“I’m not afraid of dying, I’ve accepted that I’m not in control. You know and I know that when the time comes, when you have that type of situation take place, or happen to you, and you dont have an answer, you go to the concept of your higher power. And they say there is a plan for you, and if you believe in it – I used to have a issues with the plan. When you getting ready to take off [on a plane],” 50 Cent said crossing himself as he traced the sign of the cross in the air.
“I only do it one time. I don’t – either pray or worry, dont do both. If you gonna sit there and say a prayer and then worry, then how does God feel about you? He knows you sitting there worrying.”
While the two had a nice conversation at 50′s grandmother’s house, in the past, the pair did not get along.
50 even named his dog after Oprah and it was widely believed that Oprah did not like rappers.
Rappers Ice Cube, Ludacris, 50 Cent and others chastised Oprah for supposedly turning a cold shoulder to Hip-Hop.
But many were mistaken as Oprah has fondness for several Hip-Hop songs.
“I listen to some hip-hop. You know, I’ve been accused of not liking Hip-Hop, and that’s just not true. I got a little 50 on my iPod. I really do. ‘Love In Da Club.’ – Love that, and you know, love Jay-Z, love Kanye, love Mary J,” told Ed Lover on New York’s Power 105 back in 2006.
The two-hour interview is broken down into two parts and debuts this upcoming Sunday (June 10th) at 9 p.m., EST, on the OWN cable network.

EXCLUSIVE: Rapper Yo Gotti Accused Of Stealing “28 Bars” Track
Memphis, Tennessee rapper Yo Gotti is the subject of a lawsuit that claims he stole his popular song “28 Bars.”
Eric Dion Flemming filed the lawsuit against Yo Gotti and his manager Brandon Cottrell, in United States District Court, for the Middle District of Tennessee, Nashville Division.
According to the lawsuit, which was filed on June 6, Flemming claims that he submitted a musical composition that was provided to an artist name Starlito, who is signed to Yo Gotti’s Inevitable Entertainment.
According to Flemming, Starlito provided a copy of the track to Yo Gotti, who used it for his track “28 Bars.”
The track was offered for sale through a variety of online music retailers, including iTunes, eMusic, CdBaby, Amazon, Spotify, Rhapsody, Datpiff and others.
The track also appeared on a variety of mixtapes, including “All Things White,” “DJ Scream Presents: Cocaine Muzik 3,” “On My Own, Yo Gotti – 5 Star General” and others.
Popular video producer Jordan Tower of Jordan Tower Films is also named in the lawsuit, for producing and directing a video for “28 Bars.”
Flemming said that he e-mailed Yo Gotti about the track, and Yo Gotti did not deny the infringement.
Dion Flemming is suing for copyright infringement and seeks a trial by jury, to determine damages.

Pharrell Speaks On "Pink Slime" With Mac Miller
Pharrell Williams talks about linking up with Mac Miller for a joint project titled "Pink Slime" and he speaks on the first single off it "Onaroll."
MissInfo caught up with Pharrell, whose been making a resurgence on the music scene as of late, to ask him about his collaborative EP with Mac Miller, Pink Slime & more.
Mac Miller recently let go the first single off Pink Slime, "Onaroll." Pharrell spoke on the single saying, "It’s crazy and I know Mac is going to do great things. I’m happy for him. I was just looking at his movement and what he’s doing online. I feel like I haven’t linked with enough independent kids that are doing it for themselves." He continued, "Me and Mac did like 10 records."
Pharrell also explains what drew him to Mac in the first place, "I watched what he did on his own and thought that as interesting. I just felt like I had to do something with him. Pink Slime is his project, and I’m producing it but none of the records go on unless we’re both feeling it. Mac’s like a concert, festival centric kid. And we got them records, man."
On other new records he's been producing, he says, "New Frank Ocean, a bunch of shit. New Usher. “Twisted” is a beast. I did some for A$AP, too. But I did a bunch of shit, Adam lambert, Jason Derulo."

Angela Simmons Launches “Bikini” Hair Extension Line
Angela Simmons is diversifying her business portfolio, with the launch of a new hair extension company.
Simmons has teamed with Indiqué Hair, to release the “Bikini” line of hair extensions.
Simmons said she named the line “Bikini,” because of the beachy texture of her first product.
“To me, hair is a statement and an extension of your wardrobe and I’ve always been drawn to fashion and being able to change-up my look,” said Angela Simmons, who is the daughter of pioneering Hip-Hop Reverend Run, of Run-DMC.
“This partnership seemed natural, much like the naming of Bikini,” Simmons continued. “A Bikini is the staple piece during the hot summer months or while on vacation, and the name perfectly describes the beachy texture of my first hair-line.”
According to reps for Indiqué Hair, the line of hair extensions created by Angela Simmons has never been created by any hair extension company before.
“We’ve always admired Angela’s fashion sense and ever-changing hairstyles,” added Ericka Dotson, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Indiqué Hair. “But it wasn’t until we worked with her 1-on-1 during the development of the product that we realized just how creative and business savvy she is.”
Angela Simmons’s Bikini line of hair extensions are due in stores on June 21.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to CancerCare.
